Shared Favorites

Is there a way to setup a list of connections as favorites and share it by putting the XML file out on a network drive?  We have three technicians that support a number of clients and it would be very advantagious to be able to pre-define the connections (minus the passwords) and share it.  We have been using another product that allows you to specify a path to the configuration file on the command line so we just put the configuration file on a network share and everyone points to that file.

Thanks,

Chuck

You can do this by using the mklink command if you're running Windows 7 or Vista.  Open up a command prompt and cd into [home directory]\AppData\Local\UltraRDC (just create the directory if it doesn't exist already).  Then run:

mklink Favorites.xml \\[network share path]\Favorites.xml

Then once you startup UltraRDC on that machine, it will keep the history and window locations local for that machine, but you'll be using a shared favorites file.  You may have to map a network drive first if you're using Vista, as I don't think that mklink supports network paths on that OS (it definitely does on Windows 7).
